How does hana kimi end

And even this unsatisfactory episode isn't included for those poor souls who invested in the entire series in books. I can't speak for the world at large, but I felt like the promise of this manga was left unfulfilled and that's a pretty miserable state of affairs after reading through so much for so long and becoming so fond of characters that are treated so very badly and left unresolved.

Damn it, I'm going to have to move this series into just "okay. That sucks Despite the ending, I really loved Hana-kimi, in fact the first time I finished reading it, I was so disappointed that I was convinced that it was a terrible manga.

Anyway I started reading it again one time and I got addicted again, I decided to overlook the ending because I loved all the characters, the depth, and the story so much, Especially the way each character had their own story and you came to love them so much, despite the unrealistic occurrences. Although I think I disliked the ending for different reasons, I remember feeling that the relationship was so awkward after they admitted their love, and hard to watch.

There's also, as you said, all the unanswered questions and loose ends. I especially miss Umeda, he was one of my favourites, I wish there was like at least a short story on him, or something at the end, I can't accept that he will never see her again. But overall, I would still give this manga a high mark, because it was so long, funny and interesting. In the end, I did have a good time reading it and I don't want to forget that.

I had the opposite reaction when I tried rereading it; I'd never found the main character very bright and, with that ending, I upgraded her to first class moron. I couldn't get past that impression of her when I reread it even though I like nearly everyone else. I was very sorry I'd bought the whole set and recently sold it. That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with your take on it, just that mine was different. The fact that I really really liked it before the ending made me more upset with it, rather than more forgiving.

I did expect that the ending wouldn't be very specific and answer a lot of questions that you may wonder about the story as it progresses. Many manga's and animes are like that as I have learnned. I just over look the ending and just enjoy the positive looks on the story. Like how the characters are so realistic and how the story is well thought out. All though I do have to admit the story was pretty slow and a little predictable.

I agree with you with how Sano didn't do anything to her when she layed in his bed, bumped into him, etc. I think in a lot of manga's and anime it is like that, foe what reason I have no idea. So anyways thanks for your opinion on the story because I hadn't finished the last few chapters because I have to admit I had lost a little interest in this story.

It was kinda slow. Thanks again for the ending to of hana kimi I just couldn't find the time to finish. Since school started I have been pretty busy. Thank you, from the bottom of my miserable otaku heart, I'm so glad someone was able to properly sum up all of the feelings I had that I couldn't quite explain.

I fell in love with the series but I couldn't pin-point why I felt so cheated at the end. Nothing made sense in Hana-Kimi world but, I came for the artwork and desperately held on for the sake of the artwork. Last Anonymous, I so hear you. I still can't think about it without being irked to pieces. I loved Umeda and Sano and felt like they were left totally screwed, and not in the happy fun way. And, since I live for characters I love, me as well. I agree with everything said! I love Hana-kimi and really tried to like the ending but it left me so disappointed!!

I wanted to see nakatsu and mizuki's friend get together! It killed me when she didn't say goodbye to the doctor!!! He was there for her the whole time and she didn't say anything to him!

What happened to that! Its like the series was supposed to continue but just ended abruptly leaving unanswered questions and disappointment I just started reading it.

I love it. I just wanted to know if she ending up with Sano or not. Post a Comment. Social Links. But, then I remember how old this series is and maybe Hana-Kimi started the cliches.

Can I fault them if they started it? I let lots of stuff slide. Like, the gay characters are hyper sexualized. Just because you have a gay character doesn't mean they are constantly a sex object. I hope series nowadays don't make the same mistakes. Aug 24, Maria Waltner rated it it was amazing. I love this series for so many reasons and it concludes sort of in this last volume. The thing that made this last volume so heart-breaking is that the point-of-view switches from the Mizuki, our heroine, to third person observer.

Everyone else is reacting to her news, deciding what they think of it and her and we just keep seeing Mizuki get sadder and sadder as she makes up her mind to leave but we don't know what exactly she is thinking. Time after time, her friends come through for her. Naka I love this series for so many reasons and it concludes sort of in this last volume. They all wanted her to stay even though they knew she had to leave.

And even though I know it is coming, I always break down when I see that picture of all of the students from all three dorms lined up waiting to see her off to the airport when they should have been at their graduation ceremony.

Makes me cry every time. Mizuki grew up a lot through this series and although her cluelessness was at times her worst enemy it was also one of the reasons everyone loved her. She didn't take anyone for granted. Jul 19, Amanda rated it really liked it. I started reading this series when I was fifteen, loved it, but never finished it. Ten years later, I picked up the first one as part of a grad school assignment and ended up finally finishing it.

Reading the first few volumes was a nostalgia trip. I read and reread them so many times that it was almost a sense memory at times. I still thought Dr. Umeda was the best part of the series and still saw in Nakatsu a high school friend I haven't seen since high school. The storyline stays fresh, even th I started reading this series when I was fifteen, loved it, but never finished it. The storyline stays fresh, even though it is going on twenty years old.

There's a few things that are uncomfortably dated, like Mizuki's horrified reaction to Umeda's homosexuality being used as humor. But that's one panel and throughout the rest of the story there isn't anything like that. The characters are solidly written and even many of the side characters become well developed and have their own dramas to deal with. While the main idea of it might be really unrealistic, enough detail is given as to how she does it that you can go with it.

They were handled tastefully and sensitively in the end, while still adding an element of drama and humor. I wasn't overly fond of the ending. I cried when she was seen off by all the friends she made, friends she was afraid would hate her for her secret. But I felt like the ending with Sano visiting was a little too rushed. I'd love a little bit of build up to that.

Jul 06, Jasmine Rose rated it really liked it Shelves: manga , books-read. Overall, I really enjoyed Hana-Kimi. Sure, as a shoujo series, I could see where it was headed from the start, but that doesn't really matter since the ride was enjoyable. In fact, I ended up spoiling myself a little over halfway through the series and still ended up having all of the emotions near the end. I mean, come on, Nakajo, it's so cruel to have Sano say "I want us to graduate together" and then just make Ashiya leave.

It was even worse knowing ahead of time that she wouldn't be staying. And dammit, I wanted to watch her graduate with everyone too. I feel a bit robbed. I did get a bit teary when they held her "graduation ceremony", though. It was just so freaking beautiful. The other thing that kind of disappointed me about the ending, was the lack of a close between Umeda and Ashiya.

Then again, I'd just like more Umeda in general, so I'm probably a bit biased. I would happily read stories about those two just as soon as any of the other characters. I wish Sano and Ashiya had a more drawn out conclusion, though.

I mean, I did read the extra story about them three years later, but it still didn't feel like enough. Despite my complaints, this series was great. I'll probably buy it eventually, because I certainly wouldn't ind revisiting it.

Nov 28, Shane Bacar santos rated it it was amazing. This volume was the best out of the series! It made me cry sooooooo badly!!!!! It had a mix of sadness, drama, romance and happiness. In the end Ashiya leaves Osaka High, what made me really cry was when all of her friends lined up at the exit of the school, making a pathway for her. At that end of the pathway, there, stood Nakatsu, Izumi, Nanba and a taxi to take her to the airport, for she was going back to the states after she withdrawn from the school.

Just before Mizuki, left Sano whispers This volume was the best out of the series! Just before Mizuki, left Sano whispers something in her ear. After a year Nakastu sends Her a letter with a message in the end about Sano fulfilling his promise from that day. Then, there, stood Sano!! Like a knight in shining armour. Sadly, this is the ending volume of Hana Kimi!!

I totally loved the entire manga. I choose 5 stars because this was the best manga series I have ever read before in my life. And I have read a lot of manga. In fact all I read is manga.

I just loved all the emotion you can feel coming from Hana-Kimi. I mean you can just feel all the love and you actually feel like you are a part of the book and it is easy to relate to.

It also teaches you things and gives you advise about real life. I absolutely love this manga and highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. I hope you love it just as much as I love it.

Jan 26, Starbubbles rated it really liked it Shelves: manga. Dec 06, Merili rated it it was amazing Shelves: comedy , shojo , sugar-fluff-shojo , school-life , romance. Awww, I finally finished this amazing series! After finishing the asian drama, I knew I had to read the rest of the manga. The drama is a lot different from the manga, and I was sort of surprised when I actually started the manga, but soon grew to love it.

The ending was a little fast, and could have been done better I still love Sano sort of suggesting marriage in the last chapter, it was super kawaii ; Mizuki and Sano's relationship went reallly fast in the last few chapters, but it was st Awww, I finally finished this amazing series!

The three RAs find out about it first, and Sano hops in to defend her when he happens across the meeting. Then a rumor spreads around school.

The past few volumes have all had moments that made me laugh out loud. But yeah. Oh well. So here is the climax of the series. Not only did Sano say it, without an accident forcing it out of him, or a misunderstanding making things obvious, or any other event influencing his decision… there was an entire chapter of Izumi forcefully grabbing Mizuki and making her stay put while he got everything he wanted to say out.

It was divine. After Mizuki has some time to dodge awkwardly and digest everything, she says her piece, and there is a kiss. Again, the scene is very wonderful. There was a bowling outing among the main characters, which was notable because Kayashima was a creep and freaked Noe out.

I always forget about Kayashima, then he manages to remind me of what an awesome side character he really is. One of the things I have to give this series a lot of credit for is breaking the hearts of regular people.

Hanakimi works a little differently. In this volume, the story deals with the graduating seniors, and the immediate impact on the characters is that Nanba, the RA, is leaving. For the entire duration of the series, Nakao has had a crush on Nanba that everyone, including Nanba, has been aware of.

Since Nanba is straight, Nakao is perfectly aware that his love will never be returned, but the looming graduation deadline makes Nakao think that he ought to tell Nanba how he feels, in all seriousness, before he leaves for good. But you know why he has to do it, too. He finally gets Mizuki to admit that Shuichi told her that he has feelings for her, which makes Sano feel bad since he basically had to scare the information out of her.

Sano says a few things that make Mizuki feel good to make up for it. When relating all this to Dr. I wish the series could have ended with that perfect page. When she offhandedly asked him if he was going to go back to Osaka, I knew that there was a family business that Nakatsu did not want to run involved, and I was right.

Wow, I thought I was witnessing the rather exciting phenomenon of Izumi growing a pair, but there was no such luck this time.

Then telling her that he likes her. She puzzles over the question of the future for a good part of the volume, and comes to some conclusion the reader is not made aware of. Disturbingly, this comes to her when Umeda reminds her that she came to the school to stalk Izumi, which is a pretty weird thing.

This one teases so hard, because there are several scenes where Izumi is silently putting a lot of thought into his relationship with Mizuki, and he clearly likes her very much.

It was great. The scene is made better by the fact that Izumi is getting increasingly jealous of the friendship between Nakatsu and Mizuki.

I think another talk between Izumi and Shuichi is in order. Speaking of Shuichi, his mother comes to town towards the end of the book. This was pretty fun in general, but the best thing to come out of it aside from the Mizuki-Izumi bed sharing was the perfect image of Nakatsu with his hair combed and his clothes ironed.

I honestly did not understand what was going on for a couple panels until he messed his hair up again. Great gag.
